Vice President of Development

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the VP of Development is responsible for the planning, implementation and management of The Cradle’s individual, foundation and corporate giving efforts including, but not limited to, major gifts, annual giving, events, planned giving, grants and corporate sponsorship. This individual will be a member of the senior leadership team, guide the work of fundraising staff and actively communicate with other teams to coordinate fundraising activities and donor stewardship efforts. The VP of Development will also work in partnership with the Board of Directors to solicit, cultivate and steward donors.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, develop and implement a short-term and long-term development plan, raising funds in support of The Cradle’s overall budget while ensuring that efforts carried out are keeping with the organizations mission, vision and brand.
  • Lead and manage members of the fundraising staff, elevating the overall performance of the team by ensuring that they meet fundraising goals through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, online giving, grants and special events.
  • Support and partner with the CEO in major donor identification and solicitation, including meeting with donors, creating gift proposals and managing gift agreements/naming opportunities.
  • Establish and manage donor recognition plans including, but not limited to, donor acknowledgment letters, corporate and individual donor stewardship events, and sponsor and individual donor recognition.
  • Responsible for the development, writing of fundraising and stewardship materials, working closely with the Marketing team.
  • Maintain the integrity of Blackbauds Raisers Edge, optimize donor information, and improve data collection, revenue tracking, event results, and performance of various initiatives.
  • Act as staff liaison in support of Board member fundraising initiatives, attending most Board meetings and providing Development education and support when needed.
  • Attend Foundation special events and other programs as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required with 7 to 10 years professional experience in the field of development or related experience, including at least two years of management experience required. Experience preferred in non-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising including individual, corporate and foundation solicitations and event management.
  • Must be a highly motivated, goal-oriented strategic thinker with the ability to work independently, determine and set priorities, manage multiple and interdisciplinary projects, and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • Strong computer skills and database skills, experience with Raisers Edge preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel required.

Executive Assistant to the President (Full-Time)

The Cradle is looking for a highly organized individual with excellent organization skills. The Executive Assistant will work directly with C Suite executives. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional, proficient in MS Suite and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule meetings, appointments and maintain calendars
  • Coordinate executive communications, including taking calls, responding to emails and interfacing with clients, donors, staff, vendors and others
  • Make arrangements for various meetings, travel, itineraries and related information, maintaining related documentation
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality in relationships
  • Assist with presentation and document development
  • Research, prioritize and communicate issues/opportunities as they arise
  • May serve as the President’s representative at meetings and express the President’s viewpoints
  • Completes special assignments which may require collecting, organizing and analyzing data
  • Contact and respond to individuals and inquiries both inside and outside the organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2 years of administrative experience
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand the English language expertly

  • Proficient of Microsoft O365 suite, especially Outlook, Calendar, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Community Engagement Manager (Full Time)

The Cradle has an opening for a full-time Community Engagement Manager. This person would be responsible for identifying and connecting The Cradle with community organizations to foster and develop business relationships. This person will manage a territory in the Metropolitan Chicago area.

You will be the ideal candidate, if you:

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Have 3-5 years of client engagement experience
  • Have previous experience with business account/client management
  • Have a reliable vehicle, driver’s license and vehicle insurance

Child and Family Therapist (Part Time)

The Cradle has an opening for a part-time Child and Family Therapist for our Evanston office. We are seeking an experienced Family Therapist that will demonstrate a strong desire to work collaboratively with families, adolescents, children and adults.

We are looking for a clinician who is trained in delivering strengths-based approaches to improve and enhance family functioning. For this particular position, we are looking for a candidate open to working afternoons, evenings and weekends to accommodate client needs.  

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual and family therapy using established interventions to address issues related to trauma, loss, identity, and adoption.
  • Conducting assessments
  • Writing treatment plans and progress notes in Therapy Notes
  • Facilitating workshops and groups
  • Collecting client paperwork and fee payments as needed
  • Attending department meetings as scheduled 
  • Maintaining  a referral network
  • Maintaining good standing with the appropriate licensing and insurance entities
  • Staying current with updated research and best practices in clinical field
  • Safeguarding client information per HIPAA standards and maintaining client and agency confidentiality at all times

You will be the ideal candidate, if you:

  • Have a Master’s degree in mental health field and a hold a valid Illinois professional license (LCSW/LCPC/LMFT)
  • Have training and/or certification in an attachment-focused/trauma-informed specialty
  • Have 3 or more years of post-graduate experience including 2 years of experience in adoption or child welfare
  • Are able to  maintain a caseload of a minimum of ten clients per week
  • Are able to provide high quality, compassionate and ethical treatment to clients
  • Work productively and positively with individuals in related positions including, but not limited to, other clinical team members, administrative personnel and collaborative contacts in the community
