“With great power comes great responsibility.”

Hi! We are Peter and Amy, also known by our superhero names of “Dada” and “Mama” to our daughter Savannah.  Being parents is one of our greatest superpowers.  We love being parents and can’t wait to add another child to our family.  Please look through our profile to find out more about us and our superpowers.

About Us

We met about 15 years ago when Peter was bringing get well flowers and chocolates to one of Amy’s coworkers who broke her leg.  Shortly after we met, we went on a date to see “A Knight’s Tale”, and ever since then, Peter has been Amy’s knight in shining armor.  Our time together has flown by, and we recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary hiking at McCormick’s Creek State Park in Indiana.

Some of our interests include spending time with family and friends, playing with our pets, vacationing in places with warm weather, going on cruises, cheering for the White Sox, bowling, and relaxing together, many times with a cup of hot tea.  Most importantly, we love being parents, and enjoy raising our daughter together.  Our values and the most important things in our life include our faith in God, each other, our family, and our friends.

About Peter

Peter is a fun-loving guy who loves just about anything to do with comics and superheroes.  Spider-Man is his favorite, though he has always loved Godzilla since he was a kid.  He has attended and worked at many comic book conventions including Chicago, San Diego, and New York City.  In his free time, he likes to watch movies, play video games, and keep up on pop culture and social media.  He loves being married to Amy and being a dad to Savannah.

About Amy

Amy is a California girl at heart.  She spent most of her childhood growing up near LA.  She loves the beach and warm weather.  When it’s nice outside, she tries to be outdoors as much as possible, walking, biking, or playing at the park with Savannah.  When it’s time to relax, or just way too cold outside, she’ll flop on the couch and watch her favorite reality tv shows with her cat Abe on her lap.  Amy especially enjoys taking care of her family, and being a wife to Peter and mother to Savannah.

Our Family and Home

In 2014 we adopted our daughter Savannah.  We also have a dog, Zoe, and two cats, Abe and Bandit.  We live in the western suburbs of Chicago in a four bedroom home with plenty of space for a new baby.  We live down the street from a park, and the elementary and middle schools are literally in our backyard, on the other side of an open field directly behind our house.  We love that our dead end street has sidewalks and hardly any traffic, perfect for playing outside or talking a walk.

Why we want to adopt (again!) and Openness

Shortly after we were engaged, Peter got leukemia (a blood cancer).  Peter has been cancer free for over 10 years, and he is cured!  However, chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant from his brother David left us unable to have children naturally.  We knew we wanted a family, so we turned to adoption, and Savannah joined our family.  We are very excited about choosing adoption for the next addition to our family.  We recognize that choosing adoption is a big decision.  If you choose us as adoptive parents for your child, we’d like to have an open relationship with you that fits your comfort level, whatever that may be.

Thank you for taking the time to view our profile.  We hope that this is just the end of the beginning, and that you will consider us as potential parents for your child.  Whatever you decide, we wish you the best of luck in your decision.
