Hi! We are Judd and LeAnne, a married couple committed in love, life, faith, and aspiring to grow our family through adoption.

Our family is about love, encouragement, and commitment and we hope to offer this to your child.  In many ways, we are just a traditional Midwestern family that loves to share fun, jokes, and belly-laughs, but that also supports each other through tears and challenges.   We've got random pursuits (LeAnne's consistent efforts to make meals healthier), interests (Judd's crazy devotion to Cleveland sports teams), families (it seems there's always something new and exciting), friends (sharing laughs over a game of dominoes), and of course pets (our sweet yellow lab owns our hearts) that are unique to our days; and these all contribute to the memories and experiences that we treasure and one day hope to share with our children.

Thank you for taking the time to review our profile.  We hope that it offers you insight into who we are, and our dreams for the future as parents.

Our love story started one rainy and muddy day in the fall of 2009.  We had both just finished running a 5K race, and were in line, in front of a water spigot to wash off our muddy running shoes following the race.  Judd was with his brother; and LeAnne with friends.  As luck would have it, Judd was wearing the EXACT same running shoes as his brother, and this oddity sparked up conversation amongst Judd and LeAnne.  Conversation turned into breakfast following the race, leading to a first date at a local French Restaurant a few days later, and the rest is history!

At the time we got married we were both steady in our respective careers, and decided to spend some time enjoying married life, and travel, before settling down and starting a family.  Little did we know by the time we were ready to start a family, life would throw us a curve ball and we soon came to the realization that expanding our family was not going to happen easily on its own.  Going through infertility was a difficult time for both us; however, we truly feel that everything happens according to God’s plan.  Even though the journey to get here has not been easy, we wholeheartedly believe that adoption is the route meant for us to expand our family.  We look forward to "Our Story" evolving with a family of 3!

LeAnne By Judd:

It's hard to describe LeAnne without using the word love.   LeAnne is incredibly loving towards others, and nothing makes her happier than receiving small signs of love from those she cares about.  Being an amazing wife comes naturally to her, and taking care of others is secondhand.  She's a natural with kids; when visiting friends or family, if there are babies or young children around, they always seen to gravitate towards LeAnne.  She volunteers in a Children's Special Needs program through our Church and has formed a heartwarming bond with her special friend. There is no doubt in my mind that LeAnne was born to be an amazing mother.

Judd By LeAnne:

Judd is the most loving, warm, kind-hearted man that I know.  He genuinely cares about people, and will go out of his way to show his affection.  It is a joke amongst family how Judd is the "I love you, man!" guy as he always makes it known to those he loves how much he cares for them.  Whether it be a big bear hug, a warm smile, or a helping hand, Judd always wears his heart on his sleeve.  Judd's affection does not stop with people.  He also has a very soft spot for our dog, Dixon.  Seeing how loving and tender Judd is with Dixon warms my heart.  I can only imagine how much love he will have for a child.  He will be such a wonderful Dad.

Meet Dixon!  Dixon is our sweet, adorable, loving, 3 year old yellow lab.   Our furry friend gives us so much joy, and there is nothing better after a long day at work than to come home to our rambunctious, floppy-eared, furry guy, wagging his tail and jumping up to greet us at the door.  Dixon has such a kind heart, and his love for all people makes him the perfect family dog.  We both love him to pieces and are amazed at how he manages to brighten our days, and what a special part he plays in our lives.

Our Home:

We moved into our home, in the northern Chicago suburbs, a little over two years ago with a dream of raising a family and building many wonderful memories.  Our home is a welcoming; spacious yet warm, two-story house with a finished basement and 4 bedrooms.  It is a fantastic home to raise a family, and one in which we can see ourselves growing old in.  In many ways, it reminds us of our childhood homes; streets lined with tall trees, close parks, yards, and a safe family-oriented neighborhood.   The neighborhood is festive during the holidays with houses rotating decorations and lights throughout the year, hosting parades, holiday parties, and trick-or-treats for all families to enjoy.

Our Faith:

Faith in God has always been important to each of us, and continues to be a strong foundation in our lives.  Every night we pray before our meal, and find that this tradition has a way of putting things into perspective.  No matter what obstacles life throws at us, we both realize how incredibly blessed that we are.

Our Traditions:

Celebrated traditions in our family are always a ton of fun, and something we look forward to every year.  We each have fond memories of these traditions from our childhood, such as waking up to Santa's gifts on Christmas morning; Birthday parties with piñatas and pin the tail on the donkey; Easter Egg Hunts with siblings and cousins; Cross country mini-van drives for summer vacations; And of course, Large family gatherings at Christmas and Thanksgiving with lots of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie! We look forward to celebrating all of these family traditions, plus creating some new ones, with our child.

We understand the value and benefits of an Open Adoption.  We also understand that openness can mean many different things.  We are open to having an honest discussion on what direction to take, and putting a plan in place that everyone is comfortable with.  We imagine there to be pictures, emails, letters, and visits if this would be something you are comfortable with.

Our Parenting plan

Once the baby arrives, LeAnne will take 3 months off of work to stay home, and Judd will take off as much time as possible in the first couple of weeks.  After maternity leave, while LeAnne is at work, we will enroll the baby in daycare.  We are very fortunate that LeAnne's work offers daycare at her office, allowing for LeAnne to periodically visit the baby throughout the day, and enabling her to be only minutes away.  If the situation permits, LeAnne would love to one day fulfill the role of a stay-at-home mom.

A Very Special Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and get to know us a little better.  We are very much looking forward to this next chapter in or lives, and all of the adventures that it brings!  Whatever decision you make, we wish you much peace, courage, and happiness.
