We are Mike and Michelle –a loving, fun, and family-oriented couple and we can’t wait to become parents!  We do not pretend to understand how difficult this emotional time is for you and we wish you well as you explore your options.

We want you to know that we are very excited and are 100% committed to being parents. We are dedicated to providing a safe, happy home and a life filled with opportunities for the child that is meant to be in our family. We are proud and happy about the life we share and want so much to grow our family. We will cherish and love any child that comes into our life. Thank you for taking a moment to read about our family as you explore adoption.

We met in 2003 when we both worked at the same auto shop and enjoyed each other’s company. Ironically, we found out that we had some common friends as we both went to different high schools in the same town. As our lives progressed, our friendship did as well. As we were dating, we talked about our future dreams together which included our desire to build a family together. We both had the same dreams for our lives and were married in 2012.

Mike, According to Michelle

Mike often thinks “out of the box” in many situations.   He is hands on and enjoys tinkering with projects around the house.  Mike will do anything for family and friends without expecting anything in return.  Mike is very calm and can use his sense of humor to alleviate stress in tough situations.  He is always making me laugh and teaches me daily to not take things too seriously.  We love being silly together like when we play “rock, paper, scissors” to determine who has to do the next chore.

Mike is great with kids and lights up with joy when he sees his many nieces and nephews.  He has a caring and consistent approach, and when I see him with them, I can’t wait to have kids of our own!

Mike works at an auto shop as a service manager where his work and passion for cars come together.  He enjoys weekend bike rides, golfing, boating in the summer, making campfires for his nieces and nephews to roast marshmallows, taking pride in caring for our home and yard, and flipping burgers on the grill for family barbeques.

Michelle, According to Mike

Michelle is very caring and compassionate in all aspects of her life, especially in her career as a registered nurse.  She is a hard worker who embraces challenges and finds solutions. She is an avid cook who always likes to try new recipes she finds on Pinterest.  Michelle is not afraid to admit when she needs help from others, especially when it comes to electronics. She is very outgoing and enjoys getting together with friends and family, connecting with others, and capturing memories by taking pictures.

What attracted me most to Michelle is her resilience and her personal strength. No matter what life throws at her, she finds a way to become stronger because of it. She will do a great job of instilling these values into our children.

Michelle is very artistic and enjoys making different crafts. I like that she incorporates her artistic talent by making things for our home such as a blanket ladder, wall hangings for our bedroom, and different holiday décor.  She adores our nieces, nephews and our friends’ kids.  She enjoys planning things to do when we have them over such as: painting pumpkins together, dressing up, game nights, and organizing craft time.

Family and Friends

We are very close with our families and enjoy spending time together. We have fun traditions that we have with both sides of our families and look forward to our future child sharing in those traditions. Our families all live within 20 minutes of us, so it makes spontaneous trips over nice and easy. Both sides of our families are excited for a child to come into the family through adoption.

We have wonderful friends and a great support system from childhood, school, and work. We share many of the same interests such as cooking meals together, playing games, and having deep conversations. All of them add to the loving support our future child will have. Our friends are excited for us to join the Parents Club because they know how much we enjoy spending time with their little ones.

What Led Us to Adoption

Shortly after getting married, we experienced difficulty in getting pregnant.  After seeing doctors, major surgery and failed fertility treatments, we decided to stop all treatments and focus on adoption.  We believe everything happens for a reason.  Adoption was in our hearts for a long time before we even made the decision to stop treatments.  We realized that our ultimate goal was to become parents, not become pregnant. We have both friends and family who have adopted or were adopted, and they have always shared with us their joys and appreciation for adoption.

Our Thoughts on Openness

As parents, we plan to honor and respect your relationship to your child throughout his or her life. It is important to us that your child has an understanding of their birth story and their heritage. As adoptive parents, we welcome the opportunity to have an open adoption and are excited to work together to find a level of communication that everyone will be comfortable with; whether it be exchanging photos, phone calls, emails, or visits.

Thank You
