Hi there!  We are Quincy and Brittany.  We are so appreciative that you are taking the time to read our profile.  We hope that this glimpse into our lives helps you to understand a little about who we are and the kind of life we would provide for a child.  We do not take lightly the great honor and responsibility that would be bestowed upon us if you select us as parents for your child.  We know that this is probably the hardest decision you've ever had to make.  While we don't pretend to know what it must be like, we pray that God leads you to the right decision and gives you peace with whatever that may be.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11

We met in the summer of 2007 at an INROADS conference in Nashville, TN and started dating shortly afterward.  Quincy quickly impressed Brittany with his thoughtful multi-destination dates.  We always had a great time and shared lots of laughs.  Our relationship was long distance from the beginning since Quincy was in college in Champaign and Brittany lived in the south suburbs of Chicago.  When he graduated, Quincy took a job with the company he interned with in Cincinnati, Ohio.  However, he drove to Illinois every weekend to hang out with Brittany.  We got married in July 2010 and we’ve been enjoying the ride ever since.  We are truly best friends, and we have the most amazing times together.  We love to travel, try different restaurants, go to concerts and plays, and play games together.

We love children and have always wanted to start a family together.  We've talked seriously about adoption since very early on in our relationship.  Brittany has even known she wanted to adopt since she was a little girl.  We became a waiting family two years ago, but to our surprise we became pregnant with our son, Mason, a few months later.  Although our lives are a little different now, we are still as passionate as we always were about adoption.  We believe that God has brought us here, and we are so excited to create a wonderful life for a beautiful baby boy or girl.

About Brittany by Quincy

Brittany is the "fun mom" and wants our house to be the "fun house" of the neighborhood.  She has a ton of energy and will make sure our children have an active childhood.  Brittany frequently plans activities for Mason.  I can already see the bouncy houses at our kids' birthday parties and the weekend science experiments in years to come.

Brittany is one of the most caring people I know.  She frequently puts the needs of others above her own.  When it comes to your child, she'll make sure he or she grows up in a very caring, nurturing environment.

About Quincy by Brittany

Quincy is an amazing dad.  He and Mason have so much fun together.  He has so many great qualities that will benefit children.  He always has a positive attitude and knows how to keep things in perspective.  He's also a great problem solver; it seems like he always knows just what to do in a given situation.  Quincy has mentored a child through Big Brothers Big Sisters and high school and college students through INROADS.  In each instance I've watched him exhibit patience and a desire to enrich young lives.  He might take his "little brother" out to game rooms or for ice cream where they could talk about things going on in his life.  In INROADS he's helped students work on resumes and prepare for job interviews.  He's tried to give them advice that would help them succeed n the world.

Quincy is also an amazing provider.  He has had a job since the eighth grade!  It is very important to him that he provide a good life for his family in the same way that he saw his father do for him, his mom, and his brother when he was growing up.

Fun Facts About Mason

  • Mason is a super happy little boy.
  • He loves music, and his favorite song is "Party Rock Anthem" by Kidz Bop.
  • Mason and Mommy have regular dance parties throughout the house.
  • Mason loves basketball like his dad and he already plays with the hoop his dad bought him before he was born.
  • Mason's favorite food is blueberries.

Our Family

We are very family oriented, and a baby joining our family will be loved by a lot of people!  The majority of our family lives in Illinois.  We're only about 25 minutes from Quincy's parents and brother and Brittany's mom and maternal grandparents.  Brittany's dad lives about 40 minutes away with her 14 year old half brother (term used here for information purposes only).  There are many cousins, aunts, and uncles nearby, as well.  We frequently gather (several times a month) for birthday parties, barbecues, and other events.  Both sides of our family are extremely festive around the holidays.  We share laughs, good food, and lots of fun!

Faith and Values

We were both raised as Christians, believing in the Bible.  We currently attend a very active, non-denominational church less than five minutes away from our house, where Brittany sometimes volunteers as a guest greeter and nursery caretaker.   We love the Lord, and we keep Him at the center of our lives.  We will teach your child Biblical principles, such as loving and accepting all people.  It is also important that they learn to be thankful for their blessings and treat others with dignity and respect.

Thoughts on Openness

Before we started this process, we had very little knowledge about open adoption.  After being educated on the subject, we feel it's the only way to raise a child.  We want him or her to be confident and proud of his/her background and culture.  Educating the child on where he or she comes from will be central to this goal.  We want your child to have a healthy relationship with you, whether it's through letters/emails, social media, or occasional visits.  We also understand that it may look different at different times.  No matter what form the relationship takes, we will teach your child to love and respect you and your family.  We will help them understand that the adoption plan that was made came only from a place of love and sacrifice.

Thank You

Thank you again for taking the time to get to know us.  We hope that we can get to know more about you and your story one day.  We want you to know that we promise to be the best parents we possibly can to your angel and love him or her unconditionally.  We pray that you are given the support that you need as you make this brave and difficult decision.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27
