The frequency of adoption situations in hospitals can vary, and hospital staff needs to be prepared in case their patient considers or decides on an adoption plan. Every adoption situation is unique, with varying levels of complexity. This training is the first of a two-part series that walks hospital staff through various real-life situations with an adoption resource they can trust. Cradle counselors Carmen Knight and Jennifer Rogers will help you navigate the complexities of adoption so you can be there for your patients.
This training will include:
- Overview of expectant parents and their needs
- Overview of adoption law
- Guide for how to handle certain hospital situations that can:
- Help hospitals create adoption policies and procedures
- Prepare staff for real life situations
- Teach staff adoption-sensitive language
- Helpful information to give patients who are exploring or have chosen an adoption plan
CEs are available upon request via The Cradle, an approved provider through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, License Number 159.001174 for Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) CEs and License Number 236.000102 for Nurse CEs. This webinar is eligible for 1 CE for live attendees. Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors and Nurses outside of Illinois should contact their local regulatory board for transfer process.
