The Cradle, a nonprofit, licensed, non-governmental human service agency, is excited to announce the launch of its new home visiting program. This free, completely voluntary service focuses on partnering with new or soon-to-be parents who are looking for additional support to help them nurture and care for their child or children. The Cradle’s home visiting program serves Illinois families in Northeast Lake County, specifically North Chicago, Waukegan, Zion and surrounding areas.
“We are thrilled to bring this new service to families in Lake County,” said Pam Tancredi, The Cradle’s Vice President of Family Support & Adoption. “This program builds on our deep experience walking alongside families as they are starting out, offering care and practical support to help them and their children thrive.”
The Cradle’s Family Support Specialists provide support without judgment, offering guidance on building strong relationships, providing care for children, accessing resources and more. They focus on families’ happiness and well-being, recognizing that every family’s story and needs are unique.
Home visits are scheduled based on the parent or family’s availability. Support is tailored to each family’s interests — their baby’s growth and development; ideas for bonding and playing; emotional support; ways to reduce stress; problem-solving; identifying and achieving goals; or anything else that nurtures their family.
The Cradle’s personalized, in-home parenting support helps families build the cornerstones of healthy relationships and celebrates their progress. Families are connected to the resources they need to reach their goals, with support from trusted community partners.
