HELLO!

We are Drew and Maurice from Chicago, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you. While we can’t begin to understand the emotions you may be experiencing, we admire your strength and the love you have for your child. We hope this profile gives you a glimpse into who we are, the life we share and the love we are ready to give as parents.

Welcome to our home

Our Story

Our story starts out kind of like most in the new age of technology. We met online and decided to take talking to the next level and try our hand at a dinner. It was St. Patrick’s of 2019 and we decided to meet at Big Star in Wicker Park. Who would’ve known that this first date would lead to countless more adventures, exploring the city together and really getting to know each other

About Drew

I was raised in Wisconsin in a rather small town. I always knew that I didn’t want to stay in my hometown for my entire life. As soon as I graduated, I moved to Milwaukee where I went to beauty school. Then 16 years ago, I moved to Chicago and started doing hair. I met my husband 7 years ago and he helped encourage me to open my own salon in Lakeview. Hair is my passion and my career. I love tackling home projects, especially ones that help organize or better our lives. I’ve always known that my heart had more love to give and now, more than ever, I feel the pull towards parenthood. The thought of nurturing, guiding and loving a child unconditionally fills me with so much hope and excitement. I dream of the little moments — holding their tiny hands, comforting them after a bad dream, celebrating their milestones and teaching them about kindness and the beauty of the world.

About Mo

I was born and raised in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. I am a middle child and have an older and younger sister. Growing up I was a good mix of being a nerd and an athlete. I always aspired to do well in school and loved playing sports. I played football, baseball, tennis, golf and bowling all competitively and won a full-ride scholarship to college for academic achievement. I currently work for one of the biggest technology companies in the U.S. and I have a team of 6 project managers that I lead. One of my favorite mottos in life is to work hard and play hard, and I’m a huge believer in having fun. My favorite games to play with my family include Spades, Uno, Connect 4 and Cribbage to name a few. As I look to adopt and become a father, I plan to carry these traditions forward. My goal in life is to set a great example for my child. My dream is to create an environment where my child has all the opportunities to grow up and be who they want to be.

Why Are We Adopting

For us, the journey to parenthood has always been about our love. We have always dreamed of building a family, creating a beautiful home full of laughter, kindness and support. Adoption is the only path to parenthood for us. We know in our hearts that this is how we are meant to grow our family and we are ready to give a child a life filled with warmth, security and a lifetime of love. We also understand that adoption is a deeply personal and often difficult decision, and we are committed to honoring the love and thought behind it every step of the way. We will strive to provide a home where a child feels safe, cherished and celebrated for who they are. We will honor their story, their roots and the immense love that brought them into our lives.

In Closing

No matter where your journey leads, we want you to know that we admire your courage and are honored to be considered as a potential adoptive family. Should we become part of your child’s story, we promise to provide a loving home full of laughter and unwavering support. We wish you peace and clarity in your decision. Sending our love — thank you for considering us.
