W.I.S.E. Up!® Frequently Asked Questions

Learn how W.I.S.E. Up!® at The Cradle can help the children and families that you serve.

What is “W.I.S.E UP®!”?

W.I.S.E UP!® is an empowerment program for adopted children to help them address intrusive questions and remarks like:

  • “Why don’t you look like your parents?”
  • “How much did you cost?”
  • “Where are your real parents?”
Developed by the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.), W.I.S.E. Up!® gives kids the tools to answer when questions inevitably begin.

W.I.S.E. Up!® is open to all adoptive families, whether or not they have previously worked with The Cradle. Each session is designed for a specific age group.

Meet the Facilitators

W.I.S.E. Up!® is intentionally designed as a one-session workshop to introduce key concepts and strategies while equipping parents to continue the conversation and offer ongoing support at home.

W.I.S.E. Up!® workshops are offered periodically through The Cradle. Professionals may refer families directly to The Cradle’s website or encourage them to join the mailing list to be notified when new sessions are scheduled.

The Cradle can bring W.I.S.E UP!® to your school, agency or community group. We provide all the materials, guidance and facilitators needed to run the session, and you provide registration for your families. The session can be held at your location of your choice, including The Cradle. Email dsuckerman@cradle.org or download our brochure to learn more and book your session.
